THE All Progressives Congress in Kwara State on Monday dissociated the President of the Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki from the local politics in Osun State.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Party’s Publicity secretary in the state, Alhaji Sulyman Buhari.
The party noted that irresponsible insinuations arising from the conduct of APC’s screening exercise for aspirants preparatory to Osun West Senatorial District bye-election, with some fingering Saraki are untrue.
The party has also noticed the failed attempt by a sponsored online platform to link the President of the Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki to the outcomes of the screening process.
According to the statement, “Dr Saraki has no reason to move against anyone. In fact, Dr Saraki did not move against anyone. He has no interest and played no role in the reported disqualification of any aspirant”.
“It should be noted that Dr Saraki has never been accused of political meddlesomeness since he joined politics about 17 years ago. The irresponsible insinuation on the local politics of Osun State is, therefore, strange. It should be considered as outright falsehood.”
Meanwhile, according to the statement, the party believes that this empty speculation is apparently being sponsored by those who are uncomfortable with the improved relationship between the Senate President and the party leadership across board.
